On Sunday September 1, 2002 at approximately 7:12 am Officer Bonini arrested John Christopher Hanks Sr. (29) of San Pablo on several outstanding warrants. During the investigation it was determined that Mr. Hanks was in possession of a stolen cell phone. The phone had been reported stolen to the Tracy Police Department. Mr. Hanks was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department. The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a criminal complaint with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office. On Monday September 2, 2002 Officer Keith conducted a traffic stop in the area of Stockton Ave @ Everett St. During his investigation Officer Keith discovered that Linda Diane Mee (43) of Richmond was in possession of Methamphetamine. Officer Keith arrested Mrs. Mee for felony possession of a controlled substance and booked her at the El Cerrito Police Department. The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a criminal complaint with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office. On Monday September 2, 2002 at approximately 9:26 am Officer Bonini responded to the Gas Station located at 11615 San Pablo Ave. on the report of a purse being stolen from the cashier’s booth. Officer Bonini contacted the victim and obtained a statement and reviewed the security tape from the office. Officer Bonini circulated the area and located the subject captured on the security tape a short distance away from the business. Officer Bonini arrested Rondell Cramer (24) of Oakland and recovered the stolen cash. Mr. Cramer was booked into the county jail charged with felony burglary and was also determined to be on active parole. On Tuesday September 3, 2002 Benjamin Jimenes Ibarra (35) of Berkeley was arrested by Officer Leone at the El Cerrito Police Department on an out standing warrant for his arrest. During the booking process he was found in possession of methamphetamine. Mr. Ibarra was booked on the warrant and the possession of controlled substance charge and transported to the county jail in Martinez. On September 4th, the El Cerrito Police Department arrested Xavier Isaiah Floyd, a 24 year old Richmond resident, on an El Cerrito Police Department $287,000 warrant for numerous counts of residential and commercial burglary. Sought in connection with Floyd’s suspected crimes is Dangelo Darrell Preyer, a 22 year old resident of Richmond. Floyd was taken to the Martinez Detention Facility and is awaiting his court appearances. The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a complaint at the District Attorney’s office for Preyer. On Thursday September 5, 2002 officer Carcione arrested Kenneth E. Rawls (47) of El Cerrito for possession of rock cocaine while conducting an investigation in the area of Hill St. near Liberty Ave. Mr. Rawls was booked into the county jail for felony possession of a controlled substance. On Friday September 6, 2002 Officer Tam responded to the Mechanic’s Bank located at 9996 San Pablo Ave. on the report of a subject attempting to cash a stolen check. Officer Tam conducted an investigation into the matter and arrested Christopher Todd Briellard (36) of Richmond after it was determined that he was in possession of a stolen check and was attempting to pass the check in return for cash. On Sunday September 8, 2002 Officers responded to the Fairmount Cleaners located at 7533 Fairmount Ave on the report of an altercation between to subjects. Officer Keith conducted an investigation into the matter and learned that Ester Kyungja Chung (59) of Martinez had assaulted another individual during an argument. The victim sustained minor injuries on the face and neck. Officer Keith arrested Mrs. Chung for assault and booked her into the county jail. On Sunday August 8, 2002 at approximately 9:04am Officer Leone located a Ford Bronco stopped in the street in the 1700 block of Elm St. Officer Leone checked the status of the driver and found him passed-out behind the wheel. Officer Leone determined that the driver was under the influence and placed him under arrest. During the search of the vehicle Officer Leone found that the driver was in possession of six tablets of Ecstasy. Officer Leone arrested Daniel Dias Furtado (29) of El Cerrito for possession of a controlled substance and driving while under the influence. On Monday August 9, 2002 at approximately 6:00pm Officers responded to 11687 San Pablo Ave on the report of a theft that had just occurred. Detective Cliatt responded to the area and located the suspect fleeing from the area. Detective Cliatt arrested JamesVincent Miller (43) of Richmond after it was learned that he entered the business and concealed property on his person and fled without making any attempt to pay for the concealed items. Mr. Miller was booked into the county jail charged with petty theft with prior convictions. his case will be reviewed by the Contra Costa County District Attorneys Office for issuance of a criminal complaint. On Tuesday September 10, 2002 at approximately 7:48am officers responded to the Del Norte Apartments on the report of a burglary that had just occurred. Officers obtained statements from the victim and a witness in the area and searched the complex for the suspect with negative results. Officers determined that the suspect entered the apartments via an open bedroom window after removing the screen. On Saturday September 21, 2002 a witness to the burglary observed the suspect walking in the area of the apartment complex and called the police. Officer Leone contacted the witness who pointed out the suspect and identified him as the responsible in the burglary. Officer Leone arrested Jeffrey Wade Roberson (34) of Richmond. Mr. Roberson was booked into the county jail charged with Burglary. The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a criminal complaint with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office. On Friday September 13, 2002 El Cerrito Officers responded to the 200 block of Ramona Ave on the report of an altercation between to subjects. Officer Tam learned that the subjects were involved in an argument over a pending evection that escalated into a physical confrontation. During a search of the crime scene narcotics, scales and packaging materials were located in the residence of the suspect. Officer Tam arrested Donald Clayton Bowen (41) of El Cerrito for assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance for sale. Mr. Bowen was booked into the county jail and is also being held on a Parole hold. On Friday, September 13, 2002 Officers responded to the Guitar Center, located at 10300 San Pablo Ave. on the report of a strong-arm robbery that had just occurred. The victim was detaining one suspect, identified as Kenneth Reed (18) out of Richmond. Another suspect, Charles Cotton (19) out of Richmond, was detained nearby and identified as one of the responsibles. The listed suspects grabbed the victims Keyboard while he was standing in front of the store. The victim pursued the suspects and was physically assaulted while trying to stop the suspects from taking his property. Both suspects were located and arrested for robbery. On Friday September 13, 2002 at approximately 4:45 pm Officers responded to Castro Park on the report of a subject being cut by a knife during an altercation. Officers learned that two subject were involved in an argument over a basketball game that resulted in one subject chasing the other out of the park while displaying a knife. The victim returned to the park a few moments later and was again confronted by the suspect who then slashed his left forearm causing a laceration that required medical treatment. The suspect fled the area and was arrested at the El Cerrito High School on Monday the 16th after being identified by witnesses. The names of both parties are being withheld due to the fact that they are juveniles. On Sunday September 15, 2002 at approximately 5:25 am El Cerrito Officers responded to the area of the 800 block of Liberty St. on the report of a disturbance in the area. Responding officers located a subject that had been the victim of a minor assault. During the investigation officers located and arrested Alexander Yakovick Rabinovich (45) of El Cerrito after it was determined that he was the responsible suspect for the assault. On Monday September 16, 2002 at approximately 1:04pm Officer Bonini conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Knott Ave near San Pablo Ave. During the investigation Officer Bonini found that Andrew Shiber was in possession of a Title Certificate from a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Albany. The investigation resulted in the recovery of the stolen vehicle parked in the area of Wenk Ave. near San Pablo Ave. Mr. Shiber was booked for possession of stolen property. On Monday September 16, 2002 at approximately 12:50 pm officer Tam investigated an assault that occurred in the area of the 7300 block of Stockton. During the investigation Officer Tam determined that Kent Liu (22) of El Cerrito assaulted another causing a visible injury. Officer Tam arrested Mr. Liu and booked him into the county jail. On Saturday September 21, 2002 at approximately 2:56am Officer Carcione located a subject passed out in a vehicle in the area of Manila Ave. near Kearney St. During the investigation it was determined that the subject was far too intoxicated to care for himself. Officer Carcione arrested Michael David McCoy (26) of Concord for public intoxication and transported him to the county jail. During the booking process Mr. McCoy was found in possession of Methamphetime. Mr. McCoy was booked for possession of a controlled substance and public intoxication. On Wednesday September 25, 2002 at approximately 7:45am Officer Savine was investigating the report of a suspicious subject in the area of the 1300 Block of Scott St. Officer Savine detained a subject and conducted an investigation into his presence in the area. During the investigation Officer Savine found that the subject was in possession of Methamphetamine. Officer Savine arrested Brendan Bruce Carlton (30) of Richmond for possession of a controlled substance and booked him at the El Cerrito jail. On Wednesday September 25, 2002 at approximately 3:30 pm Officer Greenwood responded to the Safeway Store located at 10636 San Pablo Ave. on the report of a subject attempting to steal cardboard from the rear of the business. Officer Greenwood located a subject in the area and conducted an investigation into his activities. During the investigation it was determined that the vehicle the subject arrived in was reported stolen to the Oakland Police Department. Officer Greenwood arrested Daryl Kirk Hawkins (42) of Oakland for possession of a stolen motor vehicle and booked him into the county jail. On Saturday September 28, 2002 at approximately 10:00 pm officer Tam responded to a disturbance that had been reported in the area of the 6500 block of Stockton Ave. Officer Tam learned that a subject had been assaulted in the area resulting in minor injuries to the victim. Officer Tam arrested Ross Stephen Dmochowski (31) of El Cerrito after it was determined that he was the responsible subject involved with the assault. On Sunday September 29, 2002 at approximately 4:30pm officer Garman responded to the target Store located at 11450 San Pablo Ave. on the report of a subject being detained by security for shoplifting. Officer Garman arrested Jermon Robert Overmon (28) of Richmond after it was determined that he entered the business with an empty bag and concealed merchandise from around the store. Mr. Overmon exited the business without making any attempt to pay for the concealed items. Mr. Overmon was booked into the county jail charged with felony theft with prior convictions. On Monday September 30, 2002 Officer Garman arrested Edward Walter Stevens (40) of El Cerrito for driving while under the influence of alcohol. During the booking process Mr. Stevens became combative and threatening toward the booking officers. Mr. Stevens assaulted both officers causing minor injuries as well as biting one of the officers. Mr. Stevens was booked into the county jail charged with assault on a police officer and threats toward an officer. Both officers were treated at the local hospital for their injuries and released. The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a criminal complaint with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.
