Report no. 04-13937

On 7/31/2004, at approximately 1351 hours, Officer Hoffman investigated a robbery that occurred on the BART path between Waldo and Moeser Lane. According to the victim, two black males assaulted him and robbed him of his wallet. During the investigation, Officer Llamas of the Richmond Police Department had located the victim’s wallet inside the pocket of a motorist that he stopped on 6th Street and MacDonald Avenue. The victim was brought to the suspect’s location where he identified him as one of the two who robbed him.

Arrested was a 17-year-old resident of Richmond. The juvenile was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department on a felonious charge of robbery before he was delivered to Juvenile Hall in Martinez.

The El Cerrito Police Department will submit this matter to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office Juvenile Division for disposition.

On 7/27/2004, Detectives Keith and Zink took custody of a subject from the San Francisco Police Department who had been held on a charge of inflicting corporal injury upon a child. The San Francisco Police Department came in contact with the alleged victim on Saturday (July 24th) and launched an investigation which led to the arrest of Jeffrey K. Stone, a 36-year-old resident of El Cerrito.

Stone was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department on two felonious charges of child abuse before he was delivered to the Martinez Detention Facility.

The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a formal complaint against Stone with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

Report no. 04-13606

On 7/27/2004, at approximately 0306 hours, officers from department responded to the area of Gelston Place when a citizen reported the activation of a car alarm. While en route, police received additional information that suspects, who had been tampering with a car, were scared off and fled northbound on Leneve Place. Officer located and stopped the vehicle and arrested the occupants when it was discovered that the car, a ’96 Saturn, had been reported stolen.

Arrested were Elvira Rodriguez, 20, Eduardo Ochoa, 18, and Augustin Saucedo, 23, all residents of Richmond. All were booked at the El Cerrito Police Department on felonious charges of auto theft and possession of stolen property before they were delivered to the Martinez Detention Facility.

The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a formal complaint against Rodriguez, Ochoa and Saucedo with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On 7/22/2004, at approximately 1343 hours, Corporal Garman arrested Dayna Marie Martin, a 37-year-old resident of Richmond. The arrested occurred during a traffic stop near the intersection of San Pablo Avenue and Eastshore Boulevard.

Martin was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department for possession of a controlled substance for sales, transportation of controlled substance, possession of marijuana for sales and forgery of DMV documents.

Upon completion of booking, Martin was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a formal complaint against Martin with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On 7/19/2004, at approximately 2142 hours, Officer Barawed arrested Patricia Story Tidmore, a 52-year-old resident of Berkeley for suspicion of shoplifting at Albertson’s. After completion of booking at the El Cerrito Police Department, Tidmore was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. Tidmore had allegedly stole $212.00 worth of alcohol which was recovered.

The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a formal complaint against Tidmore with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On 7/19/2004, at approximately 1109 hours, Corporal Bonini arrested Gordon Smith Taylor, a 42-year-old resident of El Cerrito for suspicion of child endangerment. After completion of booking at the El Cerrito Police Department, Taylor was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. The incident occurred at his residence during a domestic argument with his wife.

Report no. 04-13067

On 7/18/2004, at approximately 1942 hours, Officer Stanich arrested Joeb Issac Williams for identity theft and additional charges for fraud related offenses after Williams purchased merchandise at Target with a forged check. Additional checks, credit cards and identification cards belonging to other victims were located on Williams.

Williams was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department before he was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

On 7/18/2004, at approximately 0404 hours, Officer Tang arrested Marvin Lee Brown (35) Richmond, for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamines) during a suspicious vehicle stop. The arrest occurred to the rear of 10855 San Pablo Avenue.

Brown was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department before he was released per citation

Report no. 04-12970

On 7/17/2004, at approximately 1325 hours, Sergeant Cliatt was exiting the westbound off ramp of I-80 onto Central Avenue when he observed a suspicious vehicle occupied by two. A check of the license plate revealed the vehicle to be stolen. Sergeant Cliatt followed the car which came to a stop and parked in front of 5221 Central Avenue. Sergeant Cliatt contacted both subjects and took them into custody without incident.

Arrested were Patrick Kellen Nishi, a 35-year-old transient and Leslie Neal Colbert Jr., a 19-year-old resident of Richmond. Both were booked at the El Cerrito Police Department. Nishi was additionally charged with possession of methamphetamines for sales before he was delivered to the Martinez Detention Facility. Colbert was released when it was determined that he was not involved in the theft of the automobile.

On 7/15/2004, at approximately 1845 hours, Officer Shaman arrested Jerry Kuykendall, a 50-year-old resident of Oakland. Kuykendall had been detained by Albertson’s personnel after he exited the store with stolen alcohol.

Kuykendall was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department on a felonious charge of theft w/priors before he was delivered to the Martinez Detention Facility.

The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a formal complaint against Kuykendall with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

On 7/15/2004, at approximately 1502 hours, Officer Tam arrested Stefan Greg Hayes, a 48-year-old resident of Oakland. Hayes had been detained by Target personnel after he exited the store with stolen clothing.

Hayes was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department on a felonious charge of theft w/priors before he was delivered to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Report no. 04-12555

On 7/11/2004, at approximately 2103 hours, Officer Caputo stopped a motorist near the intersection of South 55th Street and School Street for several equipment violations. The driver was contacted and stated that he had never been issued a driver’s license. The passenger presented Officer Caputo with a California Identification Card.

During the stop it was determined that the car, a 2001 Pontiac TransAm, had been reported stolen out of San Leandro. Both the driver and passenger were taken into custody. The driver, Dandre Edward Morris, a 19-year-old resident of Richmond, was booked for grand theft auto, driving while under the influence, suspended driver’s license, and providing false information to the police. Upon completion of booking, Morris was delivered to the Martinez Detention Facility.

The passenger was booked and released after it was determined that they were not involved in the theft of the car.

Report no. 04-12451

On 7/10/2004, at approximately 0731 hours, Corporal Bonii stopped a speeding motorist near the intersection of San Pablo Avenue and Knott Avenue. After the driver exhibited signs of being under narcotic influence and related that he was on probation, a search ensued which uncovered suspected methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia.

Arrested was Brendan Daniel Servin, a 38-year-old resident of Richmond. Servin was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department for possession of methamphetamine, paraphernalia and a driving without a license before he was released per citation pending laboratory analysis.

The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a formal complaint against Servin with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

Report no. 04-12281

On 7/8/2004, at approximately 0825 hours, Officer Wong led a warrant arrest team that converged on a residence located at 5300 Sacramento Avenue in Richmond. Arrested during the sweep were Bruce Wayne Hill (49) Richmond, Douglas Maurice Penn (42) Richmond and Dale Franklin Nelson (48) Richmond.

Hill was booked on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance for sales, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Additionally he was booked for a parole violation.

Penn was booked on a warrant for a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Nelson was booked on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance in addition to a misdemeanor warrant charging a variety of drug related offenses.

After completion of booking at the El Cerrito Police Department, all three arrestees were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Report no. 04-12034

On 7/4/2004, at approximately 0245 hours, Officer Stanich contacted a subject who appeared from behind an apartment complex located at the corner of Kearney Street and Eureka Avenue. The subject confessed to being in possession of contraband and paraphernalia. A subsequent search confirmed his claim and also secured his arrest.

Arrested was Brendan Bruce Carlton, a 32-year-old resident of Richmond and Rodeo. Carlton was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department for possession of methamphetamine, paraphernalia and a syringe, in addition to being charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance. Upon completion of booking, Carlton was released per citation pending laboratory analysis.

The El Cerrito Police Department will seek a formal complaint against Carlton with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

Report no. 04-11989

On 7-3-2004 at approximately 1200 hours Officers responded to the area of San Pablo Avenue and Moeser Lane on the report of a disturbance between a male and female on the street. Upon arrival Officer Hoffman observed a visible injury to the female victim’s hand. The male suspect had pushed the female victim to the ground and taken a small amount of cash from the victim, fleeing the area on foot. The suspect was stopped by officers in the area of Potrero Avenue and South 49th street and arrested. Arrested was Lamarr Hatcher, a 22 year old resident of Richmond. He was transported to the El Cerrito Police Department for booking and then to the Martinez Detention Facility for domestic violence and robbery.

A complaint will be sought at the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office.

Report no. 04-11877

On 7-1-2004 at approximately 1600 hours Officers responded to the Allied Cash Advance Store at 10770 San Pablo Avenue on the report of an armed robbery involving knives by two adult females. Officer Tam observed a green vehicle in the vicinity of the robbery driving at a high rate of speed. Officer Tam was able to stop the vehicle on El Dorado and Santa Clara street where the two occupants were identified and arrested after finding evidence of the crime in the vehicle. Arrested were Kimberle Shaw, a 37 year old resident of Emeryville and Vanessa Walls a 41 year old resident of Richmond. They were transported to the El Cerrito Police Department for booking and then to the Martinez Detention Facility for armed robbery. A significant amount of cash was also recovered.

A complaint will be sought at the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office.
