On Wednesday January 30, 2008 at about 10:00 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Target, at 11450 San Pablo Ave, on a report of shoplifting. After an investigation Curtis Portley, a 50 year old male resident of San Francisco, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and theft. Portley was released pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office. Report Number 08-01936
On Monday January 28, 2008 at about 3:29 pm Officer Thepkaysone arrested Luis Nunez, a 31 year old male resident of Baypoint, and Roseann Marie Simarro, a 27 year old female resident of Baypoint, after Nunez and Simarro were found in possession of controlled substances during a traffic stop. Nunez and Simarro were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office. Report Number 08-01894
On Monday January 28, 2008 at about 1:08 am Officer Del Prado arrested Jose Hernandez Lozano, a 52 year old male resident of Berkeley, after Lozano was found in possession of a controlled substance during a suspicious vehicle investigation. On Sunday January 27, 2008 at about 12:39 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance at Trader Joe's, at 225 El Cerrito Plaza. After an investigation Yvette Elaine Wilson, a 39 year old female resident of Sacramento, and Anthony Jerome Harris, a 39 year old male resident of Stockton, were arrested for forgery. Wilson and Harris were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office. Report Number 08-01703
On Friday January 25, 2008 at about 3:26 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a forgery in progress at Bank of the West, at 11100 San Pablo Ave. After an investigation Alberto Ortega, a 37 year old male resident of San Francisco, was arrested for forgery. Ortega was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office. Report Number 08-01591
On Wednesday January 23, 2008 at about 5:51 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 5200 block of Cypress Ave. After an investigation Jim Kao Finh Fong, a 42 year old male resident of el Cerrito, was arrested for assault. Fong was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office. Report Number 07-15048
On Wednesday January 23, 2008 at about 1:00 pm Detective Tang arrested Beverly Bryant, a 55 year old female resident of Oakland, after Bryant was identified as the person responsible for attempting to cash a forged check at Bank of America, at 10422 San Pablo Ave, on August 11, 2007. Bryant was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office. Report Number 08-01534
On Wednesday January 23, 2008 at about 8:00 am Detective Tang arrested Jack Jefferson, a 49 year old male resident of El Cerrito, for financial elder abuse revealed during a probation search. Jefferson was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office. Report Number 08-01515
On Tuesday January 22, 2008 at about 8:04 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a robbery on Blake Street near the BART path. Three African American males had confronted a citizen, brandished a firearm and taken his property. After the robbery one of the suspects shot at the victim, but did not injure him. After an investigation Brandon Jackson, a 27 year old male resident of San Pablo, was arrested for the robbery and assault. The two other suspects, described as African American males, 20-25 years old, about 6' tall and 190 lbs, were not located. Jackson was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office. Report Number 08-01498
On Tuesday January 22, 2008 at about 2:52 pm El Cerrito Police Officers responded to Staples, at 11545 San Pablo Ave, on a report of shoplifting. After an investigation Eduardo Mora, a 27 year old male resident of Vallejo, was arrested for theft. Mora was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office. Report Number 08-01268
On Saturday January 19, 2008 at about 2:19 pm Officer Wahrlich arrested Anton Keith Williams Jr., a 27 year old male resident of Richmond, Ramallah Nobil Bland, a 22 year old male resident of Richmond, and Terrell Jackson, a 21 year old male resident of Richmond after they were each found in possession of controlled substances during a traffic stop. Williams, Bland and Jackson were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office. Report Number 08-01180
On Friday January 18, 2008 at about 8:00 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a theft in the 900 block of Avis Drive. After an investigation a 13 year old male resident of Richmond was arrested for taking property from another person. The juvenile was transported to Juvenile Hall pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.

On Tuesday January 15, 2008 at about 2:00 pm Officer Caputo arrested a 14 year old male resident of Richmond after the subject was identified as the person who stole an I-pod from another subject in the area of Moeser Lane and San Pablo Ave on Monday January 7, 2008 at about 3:00 pm. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending the filing of charges by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office. Report Number 08-00968
On Tuesday January 15, 2008 at about 3:21 am Corporal Wong arrested John Christopher Hanks, a 34 year old male resident of Hayward, Gerald Allen Johns III, a 34 year old male resident of Richmond, and Amanda Merilynn Lugo, a 24 year old female resident of Pinole, after the group was found in possession of controlled substances for sales, numerous stolen identifications and stolen checks during a traffic stop. On Monday January 14, 2008 at about noon El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 1000 block of Navellier Street. After an investigation a 13 year old male resident of Richmond was arrested for possession of an illegal weapon. On Monday January 14, 2008 at about 2:30 am Officer Del Prado arrested Tavio Sanders, a 41 year old male resident of Hayward, after Sanders was found to be illegally in possession of a loaded and concealed handgun during a traffic stop. On Sunday January 13, 2008 at about 1:50 am Officer Del Prado arrested Shayne Michael West, a 27 year old male resident of Tracy, after a traffic stop revealed West was feloniously driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. On Saturday January 12, 2008 at about 10:06 pm Officer Purdy arrested Robert Todd Verette, a 39 year old male resident of El Cerrito, after Verette was found in possession of a controlled substance during a traffic stop. On Saturday January 12, 2008 at about 2:57 am El Cerrito Police Officers responded to a report of a fight at Nations, at 6060 Central Ave. After an investigation Carl Washington, a 20 year old male resident of Oakley, was arrested for possession of a loaded concealed handgun.
