Chris’s Clay Workshop

This on-going workshop/class is open to all interested people. Chris encourages all levels of experience from beginners through intermediate skills. Class setting is laid back workshop with help and guidance available. No assignments are given, rather experiencing and discovering ones own direction with clay as a versatile material.

Spend the Summer at one of the Mosaic Art Camps!
This year Mosaic Art Academy is offered in 2 parts, a morning and an after noon session. The mornings will primarily focus on drawing and painting while the afternoon will focus on multi– cultural crafts and creating 3-Dimensional works of art. The weekly themes are the same for both camps to encourage participants to stay all day since projects will be different in both camps (please take note of the age ranges of each camp as they vary slightly).

Half-Day Rate:

Mosaic Mornings
Ages:9 –15 year old
Times: Mon-Fri 7:00am-1:00pm

This is a fine art camp that is a wonderland for creative kids aged 9-15 years old. Sessions allow young artists to try their hands at a variety of 2- Dimensional media. Students will be exposed to many mediums and techniques including pastel, acrylic paint, Tempera, Pencil, Charcoal and much more. Young artists will be engaged in creating paintings, drawings, and illustrations with an emphasis on the basic structures of art such as line, value, texture, pattern, space and color. Our enthusiastic and experienced staff will help young artist to explore their creativity and nurture their artistic ability. Every week your child will go home with a portfolio filled with a variety of projects.

Mosaic Too!
Ages: 7-15 years old
Times: Mon- Fri 1:00pm-6:00 pm
Coordinator: Shielaugh Divelbiss Jr.
This is a fun and dynamic summer experience that will spark creativity, engagement, and exploration and allow campers to create art that is unique to them. Young artists will be exposed to art activities that may include printmaking, sculpture, paper crafting and multi-cultural crafts. This portion of Mosaic will provide students with exposure to a diversity of materials and techniques in the 2- Dimension as well as 3-Dimensions. The emphasis of Mosaic, Too! is on a cultural approach to the arts. Mosaic Art Too! is designed to give young artists a more comprehensive experience in the arts, and an increased multi-cultural awareness. It also establishes the creative arts as an important tool for learning. Please note that children must have basic reading, writing and scissor skills and must have completed at least 1st grade before enrolling.

Watercolor and Acrylic Workshop
Ongoing Adult class from September to May:
Thursday and Friday 10:30pm – 4:00pm

4 week session:
$40.00 residents/ $50.00 non Residents
Drop In: $12.00 residents / $15.00 non residents

Students with all levels of skill work together, discuss their painting, and learn from each other. Accomplished painters as well as those with no experience are welcome. The instructor will demostrate painting techniques, materials, textures, color theory and compostion. Please call the instructor Mei-yu Black for questions or further information at 510-237-0112.

Anita's Basic Sewing
Ongoing Class:
Saturday 10:00am – 11:00am

Per Class: $10.00 residents / $12.50 non residents

This is not your mother's type of sewing. Take a look at what you wear the most; t-shirts and jeans? If not, we can still teach you fast and easy ways to increase your wardobe.
